does anyone noe a video format converter dat can turn WMV format to a different format like AVI?

You could just Google WMV Converter or AVI Converter.

better yet, I suggest cinema forge. Its a very handy application that lets you convert any format to...well any format! Also you can mute the audio of your video and include audio of your own. In addition there are a couple of features to edit your video such as in quality. This may not be enough for you. Well it can also upload a video to the web for you. In fact i'll make a video on how to get it on youtube.

original sound from the video i was converting. it didnt come out in the converted version.
